Bens paying mortgage interest...does it affect a person's credit rating?

I am a single pensioner who has used up all savings and can no longer pay the mortgage. I am entitled to the govt benefit of having the interest on my mortgage paid, but am very worried about whether it will affect my credit rating if I accept help. I have strived to keep a good credit rating and don't want to lose it. I would rather sell my house. Any help, comments on this would be much appreciated. Amy

No, as long as your payments are made on time it will not affect your credit rating at all. The only people that will know are you, the govt and your current lender.Gone ... or have I?0
