  • Hi, great tip. I printed it successfully using Paintshop pro as I didn't get the 'fit to page' option when I saved the target.
Just wondered if it had to be printed in colour.... ? thanks.

The link is to an image (jpg) NOT a PDF as stated, the quality of the image is poor and I doubt very much if it will scan on their systems, which may cause problems to the users.

It would have been much better to have posted the link to the PDF original file as the quality would be far far better.

Just come back from my eye test. They took the voucher no problem. I had one SA say to the girl serving me that they have had a memo from Ho to accept it.
I was expecting a battle because it was blurred and B&W.
The test was very thorough IMO. They checked my eye presuure, my sight around me etc and then I went into the test room and underwent further tests.
But, their glasses are VERY EXPENSIVE
Don't be fooled by the prices they display because it does not include the price of the lenses.
I asked for my prescription and they begrudgingly gave it to me. So i'll go shop around.

In case anyone is confused, the terms "sight test" and "eye test" mean the same thing and they are both the normal examination and testing procedure that you have prior to obtaining spectacles or contact lenses (although additional examination for contact lenses may be charged seperately). Under the terms of the Opticians Act you MUST be given a copy of your prescription upon completion so everyone should get it and you can not be obliged to order anything from the practice just because you had an eye examination there.

If the test is free then take it and walk away with your prescription if you want to!:T
  • Under the Opticians Act 1998 I agree that a copy of your prescription must be given on completion of your eye test but this is not always the case as there are exeptions. So don't worry if you dont get a copy as there might be specfic reason that a prescription would be withheld.
  • I'm sure it has been mentioned before on this "sight" tee hee, site but in Scotland everyone is entitled to a free sight test. You have complete freedom of choice where you want to take your business. Correct me if I'm wrong but once you have your test you should be given your prescription and you are free to take it to any optician no matter where in the UK you live.
  • Thanks Martin but sadly this does not work so well in the South West. I am in Exeter and my nearest ASDA optician is apparently ST Austell (Cornwall) or Bristol (Avon).

Hopefully things will get better in time ;o)
