I have lived in my rented home since march, it is an old school headmasters house i became bankrupt in august and it has taken until now to sort the gas supply out. the gas was supplied by a company that only supplies to business so could not take me on as a customer,i have arranged for eon to take over the supply though this is still not complete.Today i finaly got a bill from the first company which is from march until now it is for nearly 500 pounds what i need to know is if i pay it is it still classed as prefering a creditor if i tell them i am bankrupt would it be refered back to the landlord and so risk me not having my lease renewed. dont know what to do can someone please help

if it is pre-bankruptcy it can go into the bankruptcy. i would contact your OR about this as it will need dealing with0

but if i put it in with the bankruptcy will it be refered back to the landlord and he would then have to pay it, then when it comes to renewing my lease in march he might just say on your bike.0

I'm not sure but there are all chanes it actually would be referred. It's risky, you should try find some legal advice on this0

My understanding is that any bill up to your BR has to go in to the BR, but any amount after that is payable by you.:pB&SC No. 298

Don't think I have ever heard of a utility co. going to the LL on here. Most seem to write off the bill upto the BR date and then start the bill afresh.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0
