Hi,
My case was always held by Birkenhead office but due to some monumental !!!! ups on their behalf and them not doing anything about it insisting I was always wrong, I got my MP involved and it went clerical to Bolton.

It all got sorted and since this time everything has been alright suprisingly!
However I have now had a change in my arrangements and now my eldest daughter stays with me all week every other week rather than two days a week. So I contacted Birkenhead (as they have always dealt with my case) and they said as it had gone clerical, I have to deal with Bolton, so phoned Bolton who say I need to speak to Birkenhead as its my local office. They have passed me back and to for about a month and 6 attempts now.
I am now stuck between two idiot sites neither of which will deal with me.
Does anyone have any advice on how to deal with these morons.
This is also not helped by the fact that my ex will not contact them and confirm the arrangement.

I had a similar thing happen to me when my case was reopened on CS2 after having been closed down on CS1 for a few months. I remember that one day I got the run around being told by each department to phone somewhere else and after 2 hours and about 20 phone calls I eventually ended up back at the first office, having spoken to people at Birkenhead, Belfast, Bolton and anywhere else that took their fancy!
I wrote a letter, sent it recorded delivery and when that was ignored, went to ICE. I got a quick response after that. This approach usually works.
Try to do everything in writing. Phoning is normally a waste of time as even if they say the right things at the time, it never usually works out as it should. At least in writing there is a record of events for you to refer to.0 -
I have written two letters stating my change of circumstances and am sending both recorded delivery to Birkenhead and Bolton. I have also asked them is it possible to communicate with each other and decide who will run my case in future. Although I'm not holding my breath.
If that doesn't work then I'll try ICE although last time they didn't actually do anything0 -
ICE don't necessarily have to do anything, but they do serve as a useful 'reminder' to the CSA. When you contact ICE, they contact the CSA even if they don't take up your case for further action. I have found that this makes the CSA respond a bit quicker and they miraculously find letters that they have previously denied recieving. For the cost of another letter, it's worth a try.0

Email them and ask for a manager to call you back - that was the only way I got a sensible answer out of anyone at Bolton. I threw my toys out of the pram major time and told them that if I didnt have a confirmed timescale I would go to ICE - they told me that they would do something within 14 days and they did. My only advice is that YOU have to drive it with Bolton, you give them the timescales and make sure that you chase them up on that date, IME never ever speak to the person who answers the phone they rarely have a clue, and three different people will read the notes and give you three differing answers  You should have a names caseworker so get their name - and the name of their boss or coworker who will deal with the case and ask for them by name every time.
