Another Question about slow cookers

I have an enormous slow cooker which I got cheap. We are a small family and can't possible fill the sc and eat it all. It will be good for chicken and a joint of meat!
I was wondering whether I could put 2 bowls in the sc so I can cook a casserole and a rice pudding together. I have two bowls that would fit and the lid would go on just as well. Would it work?

Don't see why not, provided the dishes fit as snugly as the crock pot from the sc and they are heatproof. Good idea if it works! :TIt's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.:kisses3:0

The short answer is yes! LOL
I would only put things together that you don't mind the taste transfering to so I would rule out savoury + sweet. Casserole in the main crock with a smaller dish filled with potatoes in near boiling water submerged works well, once the casserole is cooked the tatties are ready for mashing.
You could also cook say curry in the main crock and chilli in a smaller submerged dish and re-heat the chilli the next day or the easiest of all double up the recipe, eat half and freeze half. HTHLife's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0 -
Thank you. I have never used a sc and the size is putting me off. I am very nervous.
I imagine I will have to put water in the main pot to keep it moist, a bit like when melting chocolate in a bowl that is in the saucepan of water. An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

I've always made a casserole in the main crock to submerge a second dish into. I cannot see the benefit of cooking in a smaller pot with hot water in the main crock as you could just put it all in the main crock. The crock does not need to be full to work properly.Life's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0
