Bone-in Rib Roast

I am going to cook this later in the week, and have never done it before. It is suggested that it be roasted so I guess I should do that instead of opting for the slow cooker (though the pork dish presently in the slow cooker smells fab and its such an easy way of cooking). I would welcome any thoughts on whether it would be better roasted and - more importantly - the best method of cutting it to divide it into portions. I have visions of the slipping onto the floor and ending up in the bin!

I love this and always do it in the oven because the fat goes brown and crispy, and nothing that tastes that nice can possibly be bad for you. I just put a sliced carrot, sliced 1/2 onion and possibly a bit of swede underneath it, makes a lovely gravy, and roast it at about 170 for 2-3 hours, depends how big it is. The meat just falls apart so if you want it sliced allow it to cool for a bit first0

i would definatley roast it absolutely the best joint to roast the bone gives flavour and retains moisture in the joint roast on lowish heat then turn up for 20 mins to crisp up tje fat then redst for 1/2 n hour before carving(whilst yorkshires cook!) you may like to loosten the bones before carving to make it easier, just ease a sharp pointed knife undder them then down each side, happy carving!!! remember horseradish and oodles of home made gravy:beer:Member 1145 Sealed Pot Challenge No4

Hey, Organic Wanabe - could you cook it on Sunday? Do you fancy joining this party? :jEx board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
Thanks for the advice above, the oven it is then. Jobbingmusician, I would love to join the party but unfortunately I'll be having my own one in New York - Sunday is Central Park day if I remember correctly. Probably by Monday I'll be suffering withdrawal symptoms and logging on to a computer in an internet cafe to keep up with all that's going on here - and when I come back I'll definately be needing more money-saving ideas.0
