Morrisons goodies - 'le Crueset' and pork cheeks

I don't go to Morrisons very much (just too far to drive) but I went today and found two brilliant things: they had lovely le Crueset-type cast iron casseroles for 19.99 or thereabouts (Le C MUCH more expensive) and also are selling pork cheeks which I have eaten in France cooked very long and slow in very brown gravy and a splash of red wine (I'd add prunes too) for silly money. I was very impressed and things like that would certainly make it worth the drive.

I do a lot of shopping at Mr Ms (there are quite a few near me) and do think they have some good offers. I'd like to know if anyone has one of those casseroles as I'd quite like one that can go from hob to oven but doesn't cost as much as Le C! I worry I wouldn't be able to lift it though, they're so heavy! I also find they are very good for meat, both fresh stuff in the butcher section and cooked/cured meats on the deli counter. Very reasonably priced too!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member #398 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts :T

I don't have a Morrisons one, but I do have an Aldi one which was around the same price, £20 or £25. Yes it's heavy, especially when it's full of food, but it's fantastic, so useful and versatile and I wonder how I did without it before.
I really fancy some pork cheeks, Morrisons is a bit out of the way for me but perhaps I'll go and see what they have next time I'm in Swindon.0 -
Were the pork cheeks with the packaged meats, or on the butchery counter itself please? Will be shopping at M's at the end of the week so will look for those!

That food show on Channel4 cooked pork cheeks one week and seemed to convince people to buy them.0

Pork cheeks are pre-packed - I asked the butcher if they sell many and he said they are one of their best-selling lines, along with packs of just pork skin for crackling. But I have a French friend who says that if you but a strip of pork rind in any casserole or a HM soup it will always taste better, so I got some of that too (55p for a big pack) and there's a bit in with my pork cheeks in a big casserole even as I type ! I then plan to do some crisp crackling on the rack in my Remoska with some of the rest of the 55p skin - the Remoska makes FABULOUS crackling - wish it was actually good for us as it's so nice.0
