Can you help me find the bits to make these fridge magnets?

I came across these instructions to make some lovely fridge magnets:
http://www.notmartha.org/tomake/marblemagnets/

What I would like to do is to make some personalised sets of magnets for male members of the family, using a mixture of family photos (reduced in size) and appropriate pictures/words for their interests. I want to then put them in a decorated tin (like a tobacco or mints tin) and call it '[insert name]; my life in magnets'.
This person has used glass half-marbles as she puts it - I think they are the sort you put in the bottom of a vase etc. I had a quick go with some that I had and they are just a bit too small and heavy, so I would like to find some of the plastic/acrylic cabochons that she mentions further down the instructions.
The trouble is, I just can't find any big enough clear plastic ones in stock anywhere in the UK. I would really like round ones, but oval would do.
There are some oval ones here, but they are out of stock:
http://www.perfectbeads.co.uk/cabochons-cameos-clear-acrylic-cabochons-c-8_9.html
And there are some lovely glass ones here, but they would be too heavy.
http://www.stonecorner.co.uk/glass-cap-clear-25x18mm/
I have spent over an hour searching now - perhaps I am using the wrong keywords.
Anyone have any ideas? Ideally they need to be quite cheap too (of course)

I just did a search on their website for my nearest store and it is 68 miles away! But this might be good for others who are looking, so thank you anyway.
Do you remember what the things were called? If so, I could maybe search online or look out for them elsewhere. I did a thorough search in the 99p store today with no luck.0 -
don't know if they're suitable but hobbycraft have something like this in the floral sundries aisle - they were reduced to 99p but don't know if they still are0

How about glass tiles? I know Crafty Juju on the jewellery thread buys them off a seller in american off ebay and the results look stunning!0

That sounds good - can you point me in the right direction if you have a spare moment as I can't find the right things on Ebay, If I do go for glass things I will need strong magnets.0 -
I always use the rare earth magnets from deal extreme http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.13516
Postage is free and although they are small they are really strong magnets. I use them on the back of flat pebbles that I decorate for fridge magnets. I have bought from them several times and never a problem.

I've got some of these ones http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/6-x-CLEAR-oblong-FRIDGE-MAGNETS-you-print-insert-/400165254855?pt=UK_WSJL_Wholesale_GL&hash=item5d2bb536c7#ht_500wt_922 or if you really want to go for it you could buy this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Tomy-Cella-Magnet-Maker-set-ideal-gift-item-/120540045617?pt=UK_Toys_Creative_Educational_RL&hash=item1c10bf2131#ht_1470wt_901 which does make it more expensive but it's great fun. I print the picture, laminate it then shove the magnetic paper on it, and cut the excess off, I've also made them for family and friends. I've got a fridge covered in them
this picture was taken a couple of years ago, there's more on there now

Thanks for this idea - it's a totally different way of doing it. This would be a great way of making some cheap stocking fillers for my kids, so I am going to order some of those as well as making the other style of magnets that I was intending to do.0 -
I have also used printable magnetic paper. I made nativity magnets last year for my little grandchildrenNothing Changes if Nothing Changes0
