Unfair team sizes at work due to part time hours

All that I was asking is how could this be fair that a full time team leader has more time to complete their job than I do. Yes I know that I am lucky to be in this position but I have worked hard to get it but feel that I am being treated unjustly.
My partner is a mother and a manager, so don't start playing the feminist card on me. Her company however will not let her work part time hours as due to the responsibility of the role it would be damaging to the company as it just isn't possible to do her job on a part time basis.
It would be nice to live in a world where we could all work hours to suit ourselves however the viability of the company is the first and foremost concern, and rightly so. Your company already appear to be being very fair to you in giving you a chance to prove you can do a team leader job part time, most companies would just tell you to transfer to an easier job rather than give you that chance.0 -
If you are so brilliant find a different employer who will give you better terms. Or grow up and be thankful. YOU do not want to work full time hours so YOU have to be capable enough to work efficiently. Don't scream and whine about others.0

I was not and did not expect this type of reaction. I was just trying to gauge another opinion about this matter. I just wanted a level playing field compared to the other managers where I work. I know that I am lucky to have a job at the moment let alone that it is part time and fits in with my childcare. I was not screaming and whining at anyone. I have also not stated anywhere about being brilliant.
I thought that this forum would be able to give me advise about this area of my work, as some people kindly have.0 -

I think many contact centres have a lot in common!
They are usually reliant on part time staff to be able to operate especially in the evenings but are not always geared up to fully manage and support them against the standards set. Having said that, part time working suits such a wide range of people for all sorts of reasons and contact centres are great for being able to offer that.
Many contact centres are very cost focused hence the method of headcount calculations plus the budgets are often determined by others who work outside of the contact centre - you may find that your own bosses' hands are tied and that they have done all they can.
The evening shift can be very fast paced and demanding for everyone who works it, which adds an extra challenge. The team leader role takes time to get to grips with whatever your shifts or hours but can be very rewarding in time. There are lots of books and articles on time management. Also, if you search the net you will find contact centre forums where you can discuss your issues further with people who really understand and can offer practical help.
I doubt the situation will change so you'll feel better if you start concentrating on solutions. If you can't make it work at least you know you tried.0
