Post Office mortgage application

Just applied for a mortgage with the Post Office. The property I am buying is a 2 bed starter home, called a Q type home around here. A block of four houses with one house in each corner of the square, so the back wall and one side wall joins the next. When applying the application form only gave options of detached, semi and terraced. I rang the post office help line and they said they had never heard of this type of property and did not think they could lend on it. After alot of explanation, asking him to draw it in front of him whilst I described it, asking him to google it and asking him to speak to two underwriters there, he eventually said that he thought they did lend, but called it a cubed or back to back property. I have put the application forward but now worried in case they turn me down. Will that effect my chances of getting another offer from another lender if we need to go down that line and has anybody else successfully applied and got the mortgage on the same sort of property from the Post office.

An update - mortgage offer arrived in the post today :-). Post office have kept me informed by text and phone along the way. Appears we had nothing to worry about just the man on the other end of the phone not sure of the lending criteria at the time I called.
