This is refurbished.
Is the photo is of the correct laptop, it looks like a Gateway one.
The price is good, but once again this is only a single core notebook, while most of the new ones come out with newer dual core processors, which might become more important in a couple of years time0 -
Embrago means they are not allowed to publish the name. It is one of the conditions when they get the notebooks back for refurbishing and it is not to create too much competition with the brand new notebooks of the same brand.gazbert wrote:Looks a good deal though. I've never heard of the Embargo brand.
To me it looks a Gateway laptop, but if anyone is in London now close to Morgan in New Oxford Street, please go around, check and report exact brand and model number!0 -
Yes, it was from an email. Didnt think it meant anything.gazbert wrote:LINK with Ad Ref (&adnetwork=af) removed. I suspect this is just an email reference, but it may be a referral link. Better safe than sorry with these things.
Thanks to the other guys who have explained what this is about. I almost ordered it but thought that there are quite a few intelligent folks on the forum so thought I must first post it and check what they think !0 -
So, is this not a good deal? Bear with me, I'm a little dull!0

It does look a good deal. The specifications are very similar to the Gateway MX6640b. The 6640b has a slightly faster processor but smaller hard disk. Apart from that I think the specs more or less match.
Reportedly was around £799

I presume this processor difference is significant? No doubt someone will tell all.

EDIT : This model seems to match the spec more precisely in terms of processor- MX6625. Though smaller HD and RAM. Great reviews! (not)

Think I'll wait for a good Dell offer to come up.0 -
Not a good deal, you can get a Duo laptop for the same price and it won't be refurbished.moneywasternomore! wrote:So, is this not a good deal? Bear with me, I'm a little dull!
Would you want to pay that amount of money for a refrurbished laptop?
MadnessNo links in signatures please.0 -

Madness
What with all the rest to, thats including 100gb, 1gb ram, multi drive, card reader and firewire?
WHat would be madness about buying a refurb when it comes with the same 1yr warranty you would get when buying it brand new?0
