Hi All
Dont know if anyone can help me with this, I am looking for a leather rucksack to replace my normal nylon one that is used as hand luggage when I go on holidays.
I have seen some nice ones but didnt really want to pay that much for one, am I being unrealistic and do I just need to bite the bullet and buy it ?
This is the kind of thing http://www.amazon.co.uk/Visconti-Atlantic-Compartment-Rucksack-Backpack/dp/B003R96OTW/ref=sr_1_22?s=clothing&ie=UTF8&qid=1287417219&sr=1-22&searchContext=B001Q99V8G,B003F5GDIU,B002RXYTY6,B001SPYPDY,B001Q9DMZO,B002Y!!!LI,B001SPUW0O,B001SPUX94,B002D9ASP8,B002SZ3XSQ,B001SPYOYO,B002D99ANO,B00332GDYE,B001PET2E0,B0028RFNRS,B0028G4DRK,B003WGMGCE,B001SPUWNG,B002J9EMJA,B002M78M54,B001TIPEGM,B003R96OTW,B001PLBWK0,B0041OB86Q

That's 28cms high and 20cms wide. You're not going to get much in that. It's a lot of money to pay for a glorified purse but if you're happy with the size have a look at this one for £15 including delivery.

Here's an alternative which is bigger but made of canvas which will fold down easier after use. £24.25 including delivery.

you could buy some leather , or an old leather coat from charity shop , could even find some leather on an old armchair or something and make one yourself , cant be too hard surely , you could use the pattern from your worn out bag , or is it not as simple as that?my favourite food is spare ribs0

It may be a good idea to do that if you have a proper leather needle and sewing machine, fastners and lining etc but unfortunately I dont
