Help me choose a vacuum cleaner!

We're hoping to move into our new house soon and need to buy a new vacuum cleaner. I've had 3 Dysons in the past and have found them to be good but very heavy and bulky so would like to go for something easier to carry around as this house will be bigger with lots of stairs to go up and down.
I was going to buy a Henry as they've got a good reputation, cheap enough and easy to store.
I was also considering an Oreck, I've probably been watching too many American infomertials
but I've always fancied one of these and they're supposed to be very lightweight.
Does anyone have any recommendations?

Ive got a Animal Dyson (Cylinder Satin Purple) its not as heavy as the upright and still as powerful. I manage to lug it up and down the stairs easily. I ve had a Henry in the past and after a Dyson they just dont seem to be as good.

For a cylinder Miele are the best - lightweight, really powerful and last. I have one and got a 10 year guarantee on it. I really rate it.
There are lots of Miele’s (prices from £142) in the latest Which best buy guide. No buying toiletries Graduated May 2017Decluttered 2016 2469 items, 2017 1580 items :j2018 3060 itemsSealed Pot Challenge No 0380 -

I'm in the market for one as well.
I've been eyeing the Samsung 8442 vacuum cleaner (which has good reviews from a lot of places and a favourable price).

We've been through a few vacuum cleaners in the last 6 years since my husband and I moved in together and we have had a miele cat and dog for the last 3 1/2 years and I never intend on buying any other. Well maybe I would buy a different one as we no longer have cats but it will definately be another miele. When we were looking into buying a new hoover we found that the miele had better suction ratings than an upright dyson despite an upright typically being better (this was what it said in the which report anyway!).Current Debt - [strike]£38000[/strike] [strike]£32000[/strike] [strike]£28500[/strike] [strike]£22000[/strike] [strike]£16000[/strike] [strike]£10000[/strike] [STRIKE]£1500[/STRIKE] £14000:eek:0

Never buy a dyson even the guy at the hoover rapir shop said that they are the worst and he had a ton in for repairs also avoid vax the 6131 model complete rubbish. I like Henry hoovers but each to their own..It's Britney !!!!!!:T0

I'm also looking for a cheap vacuum so these forum comments are really helpfull.
Incidentaly while browsing for a cheap vacuum cleaner I noted a few on the Argos site and started checking their user reviews. Strangely I read exactly the same reviews whichever cleaner I chose! Looks like Argos' so called user reviews are just a marketing gimmick.
Any comments from Argos would be welcome?0 -
Miele ( I've the cat n dog ) and, boy it's had some hammer.
Also got a Sebo Felix.
I'd highly recommend either.July £10 a day challenge £ 20.05 / £ 1550
