I filed my tax return on paper in good time last year, handing it in at my local tax office to make sure they received it.
They lost it.
I do not disagree with fining people if they miss a deadline, but it would be good if the system worked the other way round too. I had an apology and a request that I re-submit my return, but there was no £100 cheque in the envelope!0
