Quidco - secret cashback

Post Office give you back 62p for a £5 phone card purchase http://www.quidco.com/search?login=Search&search=post+office

Not advertised but handy.

We make a lot of international calls and try to use the Post Office cards to save vs Talk Talk (BT are even more expensive).

Even cheaper when you get 62p off £5 - or 125p off £10.

Why not use skype to call? either by 3 (free access) or internet..
you will get 25% cashback from quidco on skype topup as well.

    e.g.

    Canada - 1.4p - with cashback - 1.05p

you could get even cheaper for monthly subscription..

But don't you have to sign up to loads of other stuff and end up paying £££ rather then just £5 a month? (plus £11 landline fees)

Why not use MSE's International Call Checker - http://callchecker.moneysavingexpert.com/intcallchecker/

Most countries 0.5p or 1p a minute. Simpler than Skype and far cheaper than a Post Office card.

Checked their prices and they're 4p per call and 0.5p more per minute than using Post Office card (and that's not allowing for the cashback, which makes the difference 4p a call and 0.94p more expensive per min to use 18185.co.uk).

For us, that is, mainly phoning within Europe.

Skype (paid calls to landline) is more than a penny cheaper/ min and we do use it from time to time.

We use Nonoh.net for international calls. Hubby is American & we have friends & relatives worldwide. Top it up by 10 Euros (with VAT it costs just over £10) every 120 days & for 120days you get FREE calls - up to 200min/wk to most countries. Then use the untouched £10 until it runs out & then top up again by 10 euros for another 120 free days. For us this is the cheapest way - until we can persuade everyone to use Skype. We're very slowly getting them converted but as we're the ones who call, as they don't have international on their mobiles, it's not so urgent for them. lol

We did have a 2nd line at one stage with the Post Office where international calls to some countries are free on weekends, calls to mobiles here too. We also use it for daytime calls here - it's cheaper than using BT if you make few calls & can keep them in your 200mins.
