Has anyone experience with LG washing machines?

Our ancient Philco washing machine has finally died and gone to washing machine heaven... It's lasted about 15 years, and was a fairly cheap machine.

I went to our local (independent) electrical shop to find out what they supply - they recommended an LG machine. Does anyone know if they are they any good? The spin doesn't seem very fast.

I'd choose reliability and a thorough wash over cheapness and quiet running - however, I can't afford a Miele. :) What would you suggest?

I have an LG machine, bought it about 5/6 years ago now, can't complain about it, And it takes big loads, which is a bonus with a family

If reliability is your criterion and you can't afford a Miele, why not look at Bosch? I've bought several Bosch machines (for different houses) over the past 15 years or so and never yet had a falure (touch wood!). They also come with two year guarantees - even the cheapest models.

We just bought an LG washing machine about 6 months ago and I love it. It takes big loads, it's very quiet and there's no need to worry about the spin either - it works well too! The only thing I would say is that if you have a hardwood or laminate floor wherever you're putting it you will have to buy extra rubber feet from LG for it.

All in all though, I would definately recommend it though!
  • Thank you everyone for your comments. A Badger - my son has a Bosch, but has only had it a couple of months, and lives alone, so it hasn't had much of a workout yet!

We have owned the LG washing machine for over three years, although expensive at the time we have had no problem with this all singing all dancing model. Comes with 10 year warrenty, steam clean cycle, 400-1400 spin cycle, direct drive motor. We find it top notch.
