Homemade remadies

Hi I'm not sure if this is allowed, many apologies if it is not. I am fed up of every year buying lemsip and stuff like that, the price is crazy to say the least.I always have paracetamol and such in the house along with lemons and honey etc.Can some one point me in the right direction of making a concoction up that would resemble the over expensive Lemsip etc.

  • buy supermarket own brand, its so much cheaper and has pretty much exactly the same stuff in it as the named brand.

Fresh lemon in hot water, spoonful of honey in it, stir & paracetamol or aspirin.

Buy the lemons when on offer or reduced because they don't look so pretty, cut up and freeze 'til needed.

this is what I wanted , son has a disgusting cold and sore throat at the moment , I have a plastic box in the freezer full of lemon wedges originally for the alcohol and tonic ;) but think its more caring of me if I allow him to share in his "man flu " episode:D

  • I slice up 4-5 lemons, put in a pan with water and heat gently. When hot, ladle into a mug and add honey.

It will keep for a couple of days so just re-heat when needed :D

apart from buying a cheaper brand, id opt for drinking warmed orange juice, or hot water with a drop of lemon juice and some honey
