Overtime payments

Can someone explain how CSA handle variable overtime ?

I am NRP on CSA 2 and with 3 children.

My dilema here is; my employer has put overtime on for the first time in a few years, which I am now doing, and I would estimate my take home has risen 20-30%, but at any time in the future this overtime could stop.

What should i do here, if I tell CSA this will increase my payments, but then my employer could stop overtime leaving me paying a lot more than I could afford.

Do i wait for the the 'yearly review' and hope they don't want me to pay arrears, as I don't want to be in that position.

Its highly likely that overtime could be on and off quite frequently, even on a daily basis, so I really don't know what to do for the best.

Any advice is appreciated

Rob

    simple.

avoid all overtime for the 4,5 or 6 week period of pay slips they are requesting and send those in to be assessed on.

then start doing overtime again. i know you'll have to go short for a few weeks, but it's a lot better than having to pay an inflated amount when overtime stops, as the WILL NOT reasses you for the lack of overtime.

no doubt this post will get flamed by the wimmin who think you should live on naff all and just put up with it. my answer is, put the shoe on the other foot and how would they like it if it was them in that situation.

frankly, i couldn't give less of a toss what they think.

Oh so are you saying they only take into account x amount of weeks/months to calculate the new assessment? I was told that they use your yearly take home, by the way I'm paid monthly.

    Thanks for replies

they can use your total for the year if they have the brains to pick up the phone and check with IR.

normally payslips are all they go by.

Just wait until they contact you - you don't have to offer the info off your own bat, only if they ask for it. You won't know when that will be, so you may not be able to avoid it in the future, but for now, say nothing.

I thought they always assessed on P60 now?
They used to do -last 6 payslips etc but I thought that had changed?
Unless specifically stated all posts by me are my own considered opinion.

Ah thats interesting because when i had my last assessment, they just wrote to me with the new amount which seemed about right, I did not send any payslips,

Perhaps Kelloggs could clarify this please ?

    Thanks everyone
