Can we close our cases with csa even if there are arrears?

My Ex and I have 3 children together. One lives with him and 2 live with me. There are more children in both households.
To be honest we have been through hell with the CSA to the point where it destroyed our friendship.
We have been doing alot of talking lately and have come to a private agreement that we are both happy with, and more importantly have managed to mend our friendship.
My only worry is, there are some arrears on the case that have built up due to mistakes made by the CSA. Neither of us are interested in the arrears being paid we just want to make a fresh start under our new agreement.
Can we close the cases (I was paying him and he was paying me hence 2 cases) and be free of everything to do with the csa.
Many Thanks

Depends in the arrears who they are payable to.
Were any of you on benefits as the arrears may be payable back to the secretary of state0 -
Write to CSA and ask them to close case, also state you do not wish to pursue any outstanding arrears. Send recorded delivery, keep Royal Mail PC printout of receipt signature, but also make sure your ex does same or he could still enforce arrears against you,0

Then it should be fine to close any CSA case down then. Write to them, recorded delivery and ask for confirmation it has been closed and arrears removed as there is a chance a few years down the line they will realise they never closed it properly and just suspended it and then arrears letters will go out again, causing more grief.August GC 10th - 10th : £200 / £70.61
