3D tractor birthday cake for my 2 yr old son

There is a homemade cake thread that has some fab makes on it and you could try asking on there as they know quite abit about techniques etc.

Well i am no expert - but so far I have managed a train and a fire engine. They were basically the same shape but facing the other way. It could be adapted for a tractor.

Make two cakes in loaf tins (that was pretty much all I had) square of the tops. Cut one cake in half, put one of the halves on top of the uncut cake, although for a tractor, I would put both halves on top to get the height. and used buttercream to decorate. The window on the fire engine i made by drawing the shape that I wanted with an icing tube on waxed paper, then filling in with white chocolate. I would use wagon wheels for the big wheels and maybe liquorice whirls for the smaller ones. I then just used icing tubes and sweets to decorate.



For a tractor, I would make the body shorter. I have blogged it if you want to go to my hompage.
