in Cutting tax
Hi, like i said i am new so please forgive me!
I have just qualified as a teacher, and am struggling to find a job, however i am doing some supply work. This is not on a fixed timetable, so very inconsistant. I believe the pay per day is £100 (roughly, bedore tax. My problem is that i also have another part time job that i have been doing for the last few years. I earn just under £100 a week, and dont pay tax.
Could anyone tell me what sort of tax i would be paying, because im considering leaving my part time job, although it is a constant wage.
Many thanks

Your tax free allowance is, basically, £125pw so if you earn £100pw in your first job, then the rest of the tax free allowances can be set against the supply work. Any income left is taxed at 20%
So, if you earn £100 pw in job 1 and £500pw in job 2, you should be paying £95pw tax in job 2.
I suggest you ring the tax office and explain the situation and ask them to allocate your unused alowances to the supply job so that by the end of the year you pay the right tax.0
