Will be travelling down to Cornwall in early November from London.
I want to break the journey up a bit (travelling with 2 young children), so can anyone recommend anywhere that is (a) interesting and (b) free/cheap to stop off at on the way for an hour or so, ideally around East Devon.
Places like Stonehenge will leave us will little change from £25 so want to avoid places like that. We do not have any Tesco clubcard vouchers remaining.
In the past, we have stopped off at Trago Mills at Newton Abbot, and watch planes landing at Exeter airport. Doesn't have to be a children specific thing as they will find anything preferable to sitting in the car - a beauty spot with a nice view will probably be fine.
Any suggestions more than welcome.

Fagins Antiques/Raclamation Yard isn't far off J28 M5. They have a website, but it doesn't really give the feel of it. It's an absolute, total hotch potch of a place and our kids find it utterly fascinating.
There's a posh front showroom bit with really lovely, but rather expensive !, done up furniture - and then room after room, upstairs, downstairs, of "stuff" - old instruments, old costumes, stuffed animals, old pots and pans, old signs, you name it, you'll find it there
They've also got a grassy bit and a few picnic tables whenere we've eaten a packed lunch before now.
I have to say we've never yet bought anything there, but we always love wandering around there for an hour or so !0 -
