I applied for a loan online with a company called Money Essentials. I paid £70 when I was told I had been accepted. I received the documents to find I have to have a guarantor. My Family live abroad and dont have anyone else who I would ask. I have tried to ring them but have not been able to get through. I just dont know what to do.
Please help!

Basically, you've been had...sorry
This company is what's called a loan "broker". They exist to get rich from other people's misery and from what I've seen on this forum in the last few months, they do it pretty well.
First thing, I would cancel any cards you gave them details for, they'll probably take more money from you.
Second thing, there will be some complicated method of getting your fee back, read their site and find out what it is.
Good luck."We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0 -
Yep, thoroughly daft thing to do giving out access into your bank account to any old stranger on the phone.
Start taking some precautions to protect yourself. NOBODY is going to call you to make your life better. If the phone rings, it is becasue someone else wants your cash.
Next time you see a lender which looks appealing, come back on here and ask about them. Don't go throwing all your money away with a "Woop woop, I'm in the money" chant thinking your money worries are over!
http://moneyessentials.co.uk/terms-conditions-loans-unsecure.php(10) Fee’s - We charge a fee for providing the service of acting as a finance broker. We specify the fee as part of our communications with you. If you do not enter into a loan offered by a lender or financier within the 6 months we act for you, we will refund the fee less the £5 brokerage fee provided for by the Consumer Credit Act 1974. Refunds must be requested in writing to avoid repayments being sent to a wrong address. To facilitate us processing payments and repayments you authorize us to retain your charge, credit and debit card details. If a lender or financier makes you a loan or finance offer, in addition to the fee we may also receive a variable commission from the lender or financier (more detail is available on request) and you agree that we may retain it.
(11) Fee’s - If we provide services other than acting as a loan or finance broker, we shall be entitled to charge a fee for those services.
(12) Fee’s - If you wish to cancel your application, you must write to Money Essentials notifying us. In this event we will refund your fee within 6 months of the date on which we receive your written request to cancel your application. Any such requests should be made to: Customer Service Department, Money Essentials, Peacock House, North Bridge Road, Berkhamsted, HP4 1EF.

I have cancelled my card. After writing to them, IF/when they refund me how will they do that, will they send it throught the post or directly into my bank account?0

If you get a refund they will pay it back to the card used to take it out. Don't worry though a link is created through all your issued cards so the refund will find its way back into your account IF they refund you.0
