Quick update - have agreed £9200 with Magnet and now decided to take out one unit which is £215 so coming in at less than £9000!! and then I will get Diapol to fit worktops and upstands - am considering taking out wooden windowsill and putting quartz in its place - anyone does this?? Is it as simple as I imagine it is??!!

    And then onto the appliances..................:j

Yes. Diapol just did it for us! It does finish it off really nicely. It has upstand to the sill, then a sill of quartz and then the sides also have upstands to match the height of the upstand running along the rest of the wall.

You can sort of see the upstand along the window but the photo is slightly overexposed so you can't see the sill (and the grey looks more like black!)

Where did you purchase the worktop please?

I got it from Granite Direct in Enfield, North London. They did a good, professional job and I would recommend them.

OMG - you've done it again - fabulous kitchen - fancy coming down to my house and designing/ overseeing mine instead of just offering me advice over the internet!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, looks really good - how wide is your island as took my Magnet design into an independent today and he reckons my island is too wide as not enough room either side....... and yes, that's right, just when you thought the kitchen saga was over, I have asked the independent to quote!!! Meeting with him on Friday but your island looks slimmer than mine and still looks good so that measurement would be really helpful but looks like Diapol is a good option!
  • Hi all love some of those kitchens!
I finished my kitchen off (was only basic option from Homebase) with a brilliant tap. Makes the whole thing look really expensive but its not look at plumbtrends website great value taps I got the large pull out one and am really happy with it looks and works great - loads cheaper than in the shops!
