Tesco Lightbulbs

Morning everyone,

When in Tesco's last night with DH we came across a load of lightbulbs that they are selling off cheap. They looked like reduced prices but not sure how long it's on for. They had all sorts of energy saving ones for 10 and 20p. Not sure if it's in every store but this was in Huntingdon.

HTH someone.

    They have been like this for a while now, if you can find the full sized bayonet candles for 10p, they're a bargain if a little larger than standard ones, 11w I think for 60w equivalent (may be wrong there) - always makes me laugh however 6 year gurantee, how on earth can they prove/administer this without marking individually each bulb and receipt

    every lamp sold has a date code on it. (I change 40 a day for street lighting many days a month) lol. It is on normal lamps cos I did wonder if it was the same system.

    2003 = D3
    2004 = C4

    etc. Random letter (do to with month possibly) followed by number of year of productiob. Until This year! it has switched. Think its 0H now. meaning 2010.

    Obviously not accurate for terms of returns, but if you went in with a D3, probably wouldnt get 10p back or lamp replaced hehe

  • Some tesco (though not all) seem to also have some tesco value bulbs reduced to 8p, which is a bit better. I'm sure the light they produce wont be of a worse quality :P
