we always exchange small gifts at xmas time, not a lot of money
he plays in a band and I bought these off net the other day, thought I could make him a "cd"with his sort of top 12 songs on it and wrap it up and give it to him, no playlist so that every song is a surprise... whether it be for listening to in the car or at work etc
what do you think??

To be honest if it were me Id rather just receive the cds myself and chose what songs to put on them?
They arent rerecordable so they a one time only shot at putting music on them?
So unless your extremely confident you can fill a cd with his favourite favourite songs Id just gift themVery thoughtful though but I wouldnt want to disappoint someone with songs they dont love 100%
Love is the answer. At least for most of the questions in my heart,
Like why are we here? And where do we go?And how come it's so hard?
It's not always easy,And sometimes life can be deceiving,
I'll tell you one thing, its always better when we're together0 -
as a big music fan myself, i think he would love that
my daughter regularly makes me up a playlist, sticks it on a USB to put on my ipod
when you are a big music fan you often forget some of the old favourites, so its really nice when someone else puts thought into it for you and presents it ready for your listening pleasure
coupled with the fact they look like singles, i think its a great present:D0 -
Thank you!!
any idea what I could call the CD, looking for something a bit unusual since its the only thing that will give him a clue...0 -
What a great idea, might get some myself!!
Think i agree with phunkles though, let him fill the cds up with his own choice of music0 -

Oh right, suppose I didnt think of it this way....
I just thought well I would have as well giving him 4 ordinary cds then if he is going to just put his own music on it...
i had thought i had known him well enough to make up one cd and know what he likes and give him the others to put on what he likes...
hmmm bit confused about what to do now....0 -
Make him the music CD up.
Shows you have thought about him.
As for the title ,it may help when you start recording the music ...It will rekindle some shared memories.0 -
Different people will obviously have a different opinion on this, about whether you should put music on them or not. Don't worry about what they think (can't please everybody) - you know him and you know whether he would like what you are putting on.
I like the idea and it's great that it's a cheap present too. :money::TI don't want to make money, I just want to be wonderfulMarilyn Monroe0 -
I think its a great idea!
Many moons ago i had a friend who made me a mixtape of stuff he thought i'd like, it was brilliant and i still have it now.
It was called : Now Thats What Jen Calls Music , not a very original name but appealed to my kind of humour0 -

I did a CD for my DH 40th Birthday - a song from every year from when he was born to when he was 40.
I called it 40 songs for your 40th, not very original I know but it really did the trick.
We also did a birthday gift for a friend and popped loads of his favourite cd's on to a usb stick - another good choice as he loves it.It's nice to be nutty but's more important to be nice0
