Radflex or Equivalent

I'm interested in peoples opinions on Radflex or similar products. These are the foil type backings you put behind radiators to prevent heat loss into the wall. Does anyone have it or an equivalent and is it worth the investment?

I have the reflective foil roll behind my outside wall radiators (inside walls provide usefull thermal mass so don't put it behind these radiators) ..... It probably makes a difference as the wall behind the foil is noticeably cooler.
My calculations suggest that a roll costing about a tenner might have saved up to a couple of pounds a year whilst its been there, so don't expect miracles ....
........ that reminds me, I've noticed that some of the double sided sticky pads have dried up again, so it needs fixing back to the wall before the heating is turned on again .....

Thanks for that. May just about be worth a try then.0 -
I've put this in two houses so far, and in both cases my impression has been that when I turn the heating on it does heat the house quicker, indicating it's returning heat to the house which would otherwise have been lost. However, it's hard to determine how well it works personally as my house has many variables and I cannot really track any of them. The estimates I've seen vary hugely too, anything from about £15 a year (british gas - I'm inclined to believe them) to 25% of your yearly heating costs, and none of them discuss the type of wall (solid, cavity or insulated cavity) or the type of boiler. I'm happy with the lower estimates from sources I have reasonable trust in for the investment I paid (£8 for the whole house), so I'd recommend it where it doesn't cost too much.0
