A real bargain - I have a BHS wedding dress and it's exceptional quality.
I love surprises!

Sorry, but I'm afraid they are defo best avoided - they have wrecked my week!

    I ordered a size 14 on Sunday night.(it was available in a 14)
On Tuesday evening I got home to an email saying i was being refunded because the did not have it in stock.

I have yet to recieve the refund. Its being temporary held by Paypal.
I've contacted BHS with no answer

    It gets worse.

The next day we popped into BHS in Glasgow St Enochs and low and behold, there was this dress, available in a 12 and 14.

I thought my luck was in so i took a 14 to the changing rooms but the zip wouldnt go up - and this was BEFORE i even had it on, it was really crappy made. The threads were hanging from the zip and I just had such a bad feeling about it.

It didnt fit my bust. Just as well.

We looked for a larger size but MOST of these ivory dresses were marked or damaged in some way!!!!

Got home and BHS had updated its site to say there was a size 8 and a size 20.

Today it says there is now size 8, 16, & 22. :rotfl: What a mess!

I'm all for a bargain but this was ridiculous. Never again.

Just managed to get a £600 dress for half price, in a lovely shop called Thistledown in Edinburghs haymarket, 2 mins from the train station. I was absolutley bowled over.

I should say that I thought they came up small. Secondly - ivory dresses do not keep well especially in store. Bridal shops get theirs dry cleaned and then replaced often, (built into the price of your dress of course!).

Having been in Debenhams years ago and trying on their horrible torn and threads hanging off dresses and I know how unpleasant that experience was. Nothing felt nice, luxurious or princessy. But when I ordered it off the internet my BHS dress arrived brand spanking new, untouched, beautiful and as I have said, the dress maker said the quality was very high.

It sounds like a shambles for you (but I'm guessing the fact a 16 came back in stock was because someone returned theirs because it didn't fit?) but then - did it all turn out for the best because you got your perfect dress!!! Yay!

You certainly don't have to buy from the High Street to get a bargain, I know plenty of people who have bought great dresses from bridal shops... Don't think they have to be £1000 +. But sometimes it's hard to find them :o

I think I agree there, I'd imagine the dresses from the warehouse to be in better nick. I do think the pics made it look better than what it was though.

Its sad all those dresses in the BHS branch were being so easily destroyed by the public, just hanging there asking to be touched :rotfl:
