I tend to plan in advance (way too far in advance for many tehe)

Well were planning on having another baby in late sept 2012 and with house prices as they are plus only saving about 12k between now and then I think the best plan of action is a loft conversion (were in a 2 bed 2006 house)

I think between 24 & 32K for it right now. So we would be looking for a ball park loan of 20k over 4 years. (I am going to try and get that lower by trying to do some work ourselves and paying friends who are skilled who may charge less)

Now our finances. Providing nothing changes in that respect we would be earning a joint income of 40k. I currently have credit card debts of aprox 8k (all moved about so they are on 0%) which would be paid off by the time baby is born and my wage drops (the higher wage I mite add :() But I have available credit of 20k. (once there all paid off)

So am trying to make my credit profile look as good as possible to get the best interest rate on the loan. 3k of credit am cancelling as soon as its clear as its HSBC and from past experiance I know they offer nothing to current customers. I have 2 others I use for purchases for their points, 2 others I have used for a while as my chop and change ones as they have good deals and 1 other for foreign spending.

I can list them and their limits if needed. Is it worth trying to reduce my credit cards and there for my available credit a bit? Any other ideas of what I could do?

(oh and if it makes a differance, were currently just over the line of negative equity, I just dont know which side of that line :p)

Cheers peeps
