Remote Control Helicopter

......whats the best to get for my big kid of a partner?

He's been harping on about one for ages but I dont really want to spend £25 on the one Ive seen in the shop because this may well turn out to be a fad, Ive seen some on Amazon but not sure whats best to get?

Any recommendations?

Try local market/car boot, there's always someone selling them at our local one in Ardleigh. My hubby bought one about 6 months ago for a tenner and it's still going strong

The batteries don't appear to last very long on the cheap ones - about five minutes by the looks of it. All the helicopters need a lot of practise to get them to maneuvre properly and some modifications may need to be made.

If you think your OH is going to lose interest quickly then get a cheapy like this one for £13 including delivery from either Amazon or Play.

However if he's likely to be a bit more patient and is willing to experiment then get this one for £20 including delivery. It has generally excellent reviews.

As an alternative what about this remote control dragonfly which costs £14.50 including delivery? It gets great reviews but you will need a large room to fly it in.

I don't think any of these machines are really suitable for outdoor use although you might get away with it on a still day.

Check out your local TK Max, was in mine a few days ago and they had 4/5 different types including the twin packs

I've seen a really good one in Red5, more expensive but looks like it will last longer than the smaller ones.

I bought one for my 7 yr old nephew last christmas but all the male adults(!) spent hours playing with it. I bought it from debenhams for £12.50, they were also selling them in their ebay shop. Although this was last year, it might be worth having a look.
