Company Share Save Scheme - Help

Hi All.

This is my first post - as I had a question and couldn't find a definate answer in the other posts etc.

I have recently started on my company's share saver scheme, which is run through RBS. I save £250/month out of my wages which goes into the fund, which after 5 years will give me £15k + a bonus of about £500.

I was offered the shares at 4.31p each, however wondered what happens when I sell them, at the minute they are at 6.00p each (I know there is a long way to go!).

What tax does I have to pay on these shares when I cash them in? I do have the option of waiting a further 2 years after the 5, not paying in, but receiving afterwards a further £700 bonus.

Any advice/ideas/info would be useful.

Capital Gains Tax - each taxpayer has 10,100 allowance per tax year before they pay any of this. So the strategy is to have net gains on disposals during the year of around 10,000. There are strategies which can cancel out taxable gains a lot bigger than £10k, so for now I would not worry.
