Hi,
Given up on the Laptop and persevering with the old machine for the OH.
Gave the thing a damn good clean-up but something has destroyed the internet settings although it is running on steroids now.
I connect wirelesly but I have forgotten the proc. It is showing as connected but Firefox fails to load any windows (So does i.e. for that matter)
Could some kind soul point me in the right direction, please?
Wasted HOURS trying.

does ie or firefox display any error message in the window when you fail to load?
I think a bit more info is required to help here,0 -
You'd better to restart ur hub ...0

He means restart your router.
"...I've forgotten the proc." - what does this mean? Windows can automatically connect to a wireless network. What operating system are you using?
What did you do to it to clean it up?
Have you deleted the wireless driver somehow? that would take some specific effort, it seems unlikely (perhaps you deleted intel pro/set ?)
What make & model is your machine? Has it definitely got wifi?
as much detail as you can give will help all help you!

Hi
Using Windows XP3
Used AMIGO 360 to delete a load of junk.
No idea what make the 'puter is but it has wireless card.
Was running OK this AM.
Looks like Firefox isn't working. Doesn't load.
IE loads OK and then displays a 'Cannot connect' message although the icon on taskbar says connected and reception excellent ."Unhappiness is not knowing what we want, and killing ourselves to get it."Post Count: 4,111 Thanked 3,111 Times in 1,111 Posts (Actual figures as they once were))Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.0 -

what make/model is the computer in question? it sounds like you may have deleted the driver if so you should be able to download it free depending on make/model on certain web sites.0
-
>Why?
Because is cuts out a lot of head scratching and just works, that's why...ohh, and you might have one with the router, in the box ??, just plug into the router spare socket.
Sounds like AMIGO has been too good at cleaning you out. Settings and programs deleted ?0 -

It's OK. I solved it.
I installed Online Armour and THAT is what caused the problem.
For some reason it was blocking the access.
Now I need to find out why.
Thanks all for your help."Unhappiness is not knowing what we want, and killing ourselves to get it."Post Count: 4,111 Thanked 3,111 Times in 1,111 Posts (Actual figures as they once were))Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.0
