Husband owed two days pay from agency

My husband has been signed off sick for a while.
The agency he worked for signed him off his books. And sent a P45 to him.
But he is owed two days of pay before he went off sick but he was not able to get his time sheet signed.
So the P45 is wrong as he is owed money.
At the moment my husband is not well enough to deal with this so I must.
I need to write a letter but I am unsure what to put in it. And it is coming up to a nearly month ago. As things have been really hetic due to my husband illness.
Thanks in advance.
Yours
Calley

Ultimately it will have been your husband's responsibility to get his time sheet signed.
I would suggest that the quickest way around this is for you to take some photographic id from your husband and visit the reception of the company he worked at with a time sheet and have them sign it.
Alternativeley you could contact the agency and ask them if they are able to ask the company on his behalf. They may refuse to take responsibility.
I would visit the company personally with a timesheet and explain the situation so that a) you know it is done and b) you can hand the current P45 back and have them pay and issue a correct one.
Also, did they pay his outstanding holiday pay? Ask for it, if not."On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." My hero, Mr Steer.0 -

Maybe it was his reponsbility to get the time sheet signed but he was signed off as he was very seriously ill.
Yes he was paid holiday pay. I think I will have to let it go as I don't have the time or energy to sort this out. As things have taken a rather serious turn.

im sorry to hear your hubbys unwell calley.
One thing I would say is that when I and my OH have worked through agencies, its the agency that has to pay the holiday pay as we were technically employed by them, they pay the wages, not the company who pays to the agency who pays the staff IYSWIM
So speak with the agency, thewy should be dishing out the holiday pay.
If you get nowhere, say you will call acas on it, and wait for the cheque to arrive. My OH has had lots of experience of this when hes left one agency moved to another etc, and every one of them, have tried to avoid paying up for hols pay. threatened acas each time and the cash turns up- coincidence ?
Hugs xx:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Just sending hugs, Calley ...
Actually, if you could get your head round sending a letter to the agency explaining why the timesheets weren't submitted and asking for some compassion, you might get a result. Although I don't know how you would deal with paying someone after you've sent their P45 - presumably they have met this situation before!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
You will need to send back the P45 they have issued, and they will pay him as a new employee, then issue a new P45.
I apologise if i came across as short/unsympathetic - i was just providing information from my experience which i hoped would help you."On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." Oh liney don't feel bad. You gave info you had no prior knowledge of the situation and you are right he should have got the time sheet signed but he had no idea that he would be signed off and that he would become some ill and that it would become very serious.
So had no time to get it signed. I will give them a kick up the behind with a letter in the next few days.
Thanks.

liney thank you for coming back with a bit more info for calley, and for educating me. I used to do payroll but it's a while ago now and I don't think I ever had to do that.
calley, hope things are looking less bleak, and that you can get your brain in gear for a suitable letter. More hugs.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

For the attention of the HR Manager.
Dear Sir/Madam
I am writing on my husband's behalf as he is unable to work or write due to the development of a (serious illness), and wonder if you could help me resolve this matter.
Mr Calley worked on assignment at << >>> from XX to XX, and from your records you will see he has not been paid for his last two days of employment: (dates)
I enclose a timesheet with the hours Mr Calley has not been paid, and would ask that you arrange payment by (normal arrangement). I also enclose the P45 which has been forwarded prematurely.
I would be grateful if any outstanding holiday pay can be included in this last payment and a P45 issued correctly.
I can be contacted on (telephone). Please note: My husband is not contactable at this time due to his illness.
Yours faithfully
Mrs Calley

Calley, please note the CC at the top of the page /wink. I would just send the letter to the agency for now. Feel free to use this if you wish."On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of."
