Mortgage offer through-what now?

Really impressed at how fast London and Country have managed to go from us first approaching them to the mortgage offer in 3 weeks...but now what?

We've gotten the solicitor in place and she has done the searches and said she received a draft contract from the vendors solicitors, but that there was a 'few enquiries' she had made about the contract and was awaiting reply. She also mentioned that she had received the property info forms this morning;she's still waiting on her copy of the mortgage offer tho.

Bit confused as FTB as to what to expect now from the legal side of things and what sort of timescale? The property is vacant possession and we'd like to move asap...

Any ideas how long this stage takes?

Thanks for your help

  • Sounds good to me. Most of the bases seem covered. Depends how fast theior solicitors reply to the queries, and whether responses are OK or not.

    Are you having a survey?
  • It depends how long it takes to get replies to the enquiries and if they lead to any further enquiries. Once they are back and finalised there's no reason it couldn't be exchanged within a week and then complete a week or so later.
