Help with arrears please

Hi,
My ex has outstanding arrears with the csa and I have asked them to collect them. I first rang 6 weeks ago and have not heard anything since, how long does it usually take for me to start receiving the arrears?

Many thanks

Longer than 6 wks I should imagine....by the time they have notified NRP etc.,....might be worth ringing tem and asking for a update.
  • 5 years on, with monthy chase up phone calls. My ex owes £3.5k in arrears!!!

From experience I would not expect anything to happen in a hurry.

    Sorry.

Thanks for your replies, he should be paying me £180 a month but has only started to pay £90 this may(she is 5 now). He is built up the arrears from when I got the csa involved 2 years ago, not sure if I should just accept the £90 through a private agreement or chase up the correct assessment amount.
    Thanks again

    £90 from NRP and £90 from PWC + £20 CB = £200. Not bad :j

Your maths don't add up. The £90 child support is monthly ... £20 CB is weekly.

+ Tax Credits and possibly Working Tax Credits?

I wasn't disputing that. Just picking up on the error. :D

  • My child benefit and working tax credits are irrelevant to my child support money. I was just asking about arrears and explaining how they have built up. He didn't contribute for 3 years and I gave him every opportunity to contribute privately before going to the csa.

Really? I pay £200 a month just for childcare for two children (morning and afterschool club) but get no WTC. I pay about the same for their activities, then add about £100 for their lunch vouchers, that's already £500, £250 per child before being fed, sheltered and kept warm.

Why should this have warranted a comment? The NRP has been assessed as requiring to give the PWC £180 a month, so I fail to see what else you need to comment on.
