Renting when Dishcarged Bankrupt.

Options
Hello i am looking for some advice. Both my partner and i who both still live with our parents are looking to rent a property. However i was discharged from bankruptcy in May this year, would this cause any problems.
My partner has a clean credit history earns £18000 a year i earn £16000 a year both in full time employment. I have no debt my partner has a loan for £80.00 a month.
Would they just simply credit check my partner and add me to the agreement?
My parents said they would be guarantor however they are both retired but do receive a large private and state pension and are mortgage free. Jointly around £30000 a year.
Do you think they would require 6 months rent upfront like i know some do.?
I know its each agencies to themselves, however if i am honest with this information upfront do you see any issues.
I cant see why my partner cant just be credit checked on her own, and i just added to the tenancy agreement.
However this letting agent whom we will probably be using called Dowen Estate Agents, seem to ask for a lot of things as it is such as references, id, wage slips , bank stats, employment refs. So we are quite worried they may just say no.

thanks for your help
Kevin and Lindsey

they may say no or yes just try you never know till then good luck anyway
  • I moved into a new rented property in June whilst still BR. I was upfront with the Letting Agency and they said it was fine, but i would either need to pay 6 months rent or have a guarantor. I asked if i could just have my Wife on the agreement, which they declined, as both of us had to be on it.

just be honest with them, and im sure everything will be fine!
  • I'm a discharged bankrupt and partner also has carp credit score... we were just upfront with the agency (once we'd told them we were interested in a particular property - no need to put them off before they see the £££££s) we offered a guarantor but they were happy to just check with the landlady and charge us both to credit check us... whether they did or not I don't know but hey it would have cost us that anyway! :D
