Receipe for an excellent alternative to costa/starbucks

Options
Hey am a old school convert of sorts, dipping my toe in as you say and the frothy takeaway coffee situation is close to my heart. i like to enjoy one a week but recently got a receipe for a good alternative that really hits the spot. i subbed the coffee beans and grinder for a good quality asda coffee (extra special £1.84 - not so MSE but last a while and i need at least one indulgent pleasure in my day lol).

heres the link - hope it helps someone :

I was in makro this week when I found those flavoured syrups that they use in starbucks et al (thanks to the poster who mentioned them on here on another thread). Only about 4-5 a bottle and loads of favours, plus great over ice cream. Reckon would also work to flavour teas/milkshakes/other drinks and perhaps homemade truffles?

Think I may have a caramel latte later mmmmm.

I was expecting to see vanilla syrup in it, going by the title, but I guess they're using the term *vanilla* to mean plain, normal.
Add 3 1/2 cups of hot boiling water

Had a bit of a chuckle over this. I've always found boiling water to be hot!

Any suggestions for an alternative reciepe for the Starbucks signature hot chocolate?? It's not like any other hot chocolate, it's not as sweet I think its a blend of dark and milk chocolate but its more bitter like dark chocolate.

    Any suggestions would be great!!!:j
