I am seething because of CSA i went thru a 3 year court battle with my ex as he has mental health problems. It finally got decided in March this year and included in the order/agreement was that he was to pay £10 a week child support for our 2 daughters! But oh no he decides this too much goes to CSA and because the child support is part of a contact order they have chosen to see it in his favour and now because of this I will now get only £2.50 a week. I wouldn't mind so much if he actually brought them stuff and paid towards school trips etc but he doesn't. He and his new wife are claiming social security but they still seem to manage to afford 2 holidays ( one of which was to malta) and laptops etc in the past year....Makes me and my partner mad as we have to manage on his wages and could not even afford a week away this year. We only just manage to cover our bills and what the kids need!
Sorry Rant over just had to get it all out before kids get home! Men like my EX give good caring absent dads a bad name!

Sorry to hear that, we read so stories from both sides of the fence, what puzzles me is why you have to survive on your current partners wages, can you not go to work?0 -
I guess if your children are pre-school - getting a job can be difficult. I have always worked to support my children because my husband died - no maintenance or help from the CSA for me - and we do OK!!!!0

Working etc can be tricky with little one's, but I also had to keep 3 part-time jobs going when my 1st hubs walked out on me and 2 d/s after a string of affairs, he decided we were surplus to requirement. I also didn't receive any maintenance from him for many many years, but had to keep a mortgaged roof over our heads. Not good, but we scraped by somehow.
To add the children are 19 and 20 and (nothing to do with me) he hasn't seen them since youngest was 2 weeks old ( i was pregnant when he decided to leave) - he couldn't see them on a certain day (that was planned) as was taking girlfriend to pop concert - but never bothered getting in touch to rearrange!! Not even nearly 19 years on!!
I did try contacting him, but he never wanted to speak to me, then when I moved met someone else and changed children's names when they were 10 and 11 years old, he had cheek to complain to CSA.0 -

I'm over my rant now to be honest, it was the attitude of the woman from CSA on the phone that rattled me more than anything. I do feel tho for parents who only have contact have many friends in the situation who are all brilliant with there kids not only paying child support but providing for there kids in there homes and men like my EX just give kids these people a bad name in the press.2008 wins
