Hi Guys
I would be very gratefull for some advice. I have been suffering a few financial problems and missed some car repayments at £170 a month so this made some arrears which I was made to say I would pay off ay £200 a month, which I cannot afford at present due to only currently working parttime due to post natel depression. I could not make the £200 payment so they have now sent me a letter of a Notice Of Termination saying that I ignored a Default Notice that I havent even recieved! and apprantly now I have the car illegaly but without the car I cannot get to work as I work in another town or take my boy to school which is right on the other side of town.
Any advice anyone? Due to the PND I am no good at confrontation and this is starting to make me feel panicky as dont like and dont deal very well with new situations.

can you pay the monthly installment + some off the arrears?
- if you can, go to the local county court and apply for a time order.
Have you paid more than a 1/3 of the total amount payable?
- if you have they cannot reposses the car without a court order but they may try to get you to volunatarly surrender the car. This is not advisable really as they sell the car at auction and come after you for the remaining balance.
If you have paid less than a 1/3 keep the car off the road, ie a driveway because it is private property they cannot take the car without your permission but on the public highway they can.
If you need anymore help pm me and my OH will try to help.0
