Altering roller blind & dyeing curtains

Looking for a little bit of advice..
Deciding to 'do up' my little boys room and am looking to save some pennies.
Firstly, i want to add silver eyelets to the roller blind that we already have. At the moment its just a plain blue material covering the bottom bar but as its blackout the bar looks white from the outside. Could i easily remove this and add eyelets? I'm not that great with things like this but it seems silly to look for a new blind when i really just want to make the one i have a little prettier.
Also, i have a pair of lime green eyelet curtains (think theyr just canvas), unlined aswell and would like these to be a royal or navy blue.
Could i dye these easily or should i just buy new?
Any advice much appreciated
Thanks x

The curtains, are they cotton canvas? Can they be machine washed?
If so, chuck them in the machine with a box of dylon & some salt.
Dyeing lime green to navy blue should be fine. I'd go for the darker navy rather than royal blue. If they've used a polyester lime green thread this may stay lime green, but would still be a nice contrast to navy.
I wouldn't bother punching eyelets into a blackout blind. It would defeat the purpose of the blind. If you really want it prettier, you could try sewing something to the bottom.0 -
Will give it a go with the curtains as they are cotton canvas

Your very right about the blind btw, not sure why i didnt think about the eyelets not being much use before. my son gets up in the night and at the crack of dawn without little holes of light to waken him any more than he already is lol
