Epson SX515W won't scan wirelessly

Good Morning All

Sorry if this has been covered before - I did do a search but couldn't find anything.

Sometime ago purchased Epson SX515W all in one wireless printer. I was using via usb originally but now have reorganised my room and have managed to set up to print wirelessly (have windows 7) which is great however it won't scan wirelessly. Have downloaded all the latest drivers from the Epson website but still no luck :(

Anyone have any ideas or failing that a new printer/scanner/copier recommondation. To confuse things a little am using a toshiba laptop for one job but am getting a Imac desktop to use for another job - so the wireless all in one needs to be set up with this also.

Thanks in advanced from one stressed not very techy person :)

On the printer when you press the scan button does it give you the option to use USB or last settings? What happens if you open Epson Scan on the laptop?

If you run the epson Event Manager and check the Network Scan Settings does it have a tick in the box against Enable Network Scan?

Diable many thanks for your help today however i have just set up my imac, found printer straight away & scanner works - so must be a windows 7 issue.

    Am happy again now :)
  • We've got a similar problem. SX515W Printer/scanner working perfectly on wireless till we got a new computer (Windows 7). Installed the printer and it kept telling us there was no ink despite having new cartridges. However the scanner and copier worked fine. We uninstalled and reinstalled and now the printer works fine but the scanner tells us "communication error". However if we run a test from the scanner page from the Windows 7 devices/printer it tells us that the scanner is working fine. Do we really have to chose to have either the printer or scanner working but not both? What am I missing here, there must be a setting I've missed?

I had a similar problem last night but the other way round....I wanted to scan via USB and not via network.

Go to All Programs/Epson/Epson Scan/Epson Scan Settings and change connection from Local (which is USB) to Network (which is WIFI).
