Are there any clever tricks to encourage Kiwi fruit to ripen?
I bought some about a week or so ago and they're still rock hard and inedible. I've tried leaving them in a bowl with some bananas but it seems to have had no effect.
Thanks

Try putting them in a bag with the bananas. It works for avocados but I've never tried it with kiwi fruit.0

Thanks for the suggestions I'll give them both a try.
I guess it should be a paper bag, and that's got me thinking that I've not seen one of those for a long time!Stompa0 -
Stompa - local greengrocers still tend to use brown paper bags, but, at a push, you could go to Homebase and grab a few when buying one item
Earlier this year, I need some paper bags for gifting some hm goodies ... I simply asked at the local Kebab shop is I could 'buy' a few of theirs .. they were more than happy to give me a dozen (bless!).
Corner shops often have paper (but not brown paper) bags for sweeties, so you could ask there too if you have trouble locating them elsewhere.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Thanks, I'll be able to locate some somewhere - or it may be simpler to make my own in this instance!Stompa0 -
I just used a carrier bag. Seemed to be OK but made the bananas ripen very quick so maybe best to consider it a sacrificial banana.0
