Hi
I just got a new phone (woohoo!), but I want a data transfer device so I can swap stuff from my computer to phone and v.v.
Does anyone know a good/cheap/reliable place to get such a thing?? I live in the middle of nowhere, so a t'internet shop would be best!
either bluetooth or USB would be grand!
cheers

Assuming your phone has bluetooth, thena usb dongle is all you need.
The Computer Shop, part of time had one for £14.99, but they seem to be changing their site, so heres a few at aria

And Microdirect

Ebuyer and Novotech worth a look too.
ScatMoi....?

I used to use bluetooth on my old phone but use infrared with my new one and it works ace (obviously need an infrared on your computer).
Maybe get a cable instead? Try searching ebay normally find them cheaper than the shops2p off is still 2p off!0 -
Thanks for the help guys - I did try ebay and there was such an array of items at an array of prices I was a little flummoxed!
cheers anyway!

sorry me again..... If I buy a 'dongle', does that just do the same job as a usb cable would do, but wirelessly....... ie: can i upload/download ringtones/pictures/data to/from phone from my computer???
cheers!0 -
You certainly can , and the beauty of Bluetooth is that if the phone has bluetooth , you'll never need to buy cables again . I've got a few old cables and they're just sitting around doing nothing now . Also , if you buy a PDA in the future you'll be able to use bluetooth for that too .
It's definately the way to go for data transfer and you can get dongles from about £15 so well worth it in the long run .Growing OLD is Compulsory
Growing UP is OPTIONAL !!0 -
I reckon you'll need an application to actually talk via BT. This will need to be compatible with your phone model.0
