Cost of two fillings

My boyfriend needs two fillings and has been quoted £120 for two white fillings, we don't mind paying for white fillings however I just wanted to check if you do have silver ones do you only pay the one charge of £45.60 or two lots at £91.20 (because a £30 different for white fillings is ok but £74.40 is quite a lot)

Another question, can you get implants done on the NHS and how much do they cost if so...not having a good year with teeth and it is going over £1000 so looking into different things...definitely thinking about getting dental insurance but probably a bit too late!!!

The NHS charge for any amount of fillings is £45.60. NOT £45.60 each filling.

By and large you can't get implants on the NHS. There are a few exceptional crcumstances (Young people loosing teeth in accidents, occasionally teeth lost due to tumours) but by and large they are private only.
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

On NHS, 2 fillings would be covered by a single charge of £45.60, would be same price for a single filling or 3.

I doubt that implants would be covered by NHS, as the missing tooth could be replaced by a plate or bridge.

I think you either misheard, or mistyped.

£300 is cheap for a private denture - never mind an implant.

I've heard of some places doing them for about £1000 in the UK, but a more usualprice is £2k + per tooth.

I recently had 2 large fillings and a 3rd smaller one done on the NHS - £45.60 for the front one - white offered on NHS for front ones and all work and clean and polish. I paid about £100 for the 2 large white ones as I wanted white ones not metal.

Another place quoted me £100 per filling! NHS dentist doing private for the white fillings - and wanted cash in hand - needless to say I left there and found this other dentist who is miles nicer. The other place has just been done for fraud - the owner a dentist got send to prison!

Im so glad I moved and thought the price I paid was good for what was done and the service was very friendly.

Dental insurance, capitation schemes such as denplan etc will not pay for implants either.

Most capitation schemes need you to be dentally fit before you join but health cash back schemes pay out after a short period , some straight away.
