I'm looking for a cheap hotel in Manchester for Sunday 15th May. Anyone know of any hotel chains doing offers or half price deals around that time???

It depends where abouts in the City you want to stay and whether you want parking. Theres a Travelodge at the top of Deansgate, theres a hotel Ibis on Princess St & Portland St, and a Novatel and Travel Inn also on Portland Street all are easily within walking distance of the main city centre and pubs.

All of these hotels are relatively new and very comfortable and built within the last 2yrs as part of the regenration of the City for the Commonwealth Games. All are under £50 per room per night. Parking relies upon nearby NCP and and other major privately owned Car Parks so this aspect will be not cheap. Most of the larger hotels if they have their own car parks will charge anyway- but not as much.

The cheapest car parking if you stay at the Hotel Ibis on Princess St is at the UMIST multistory carpark across the road and not at the Euro carpark which the hotel offers a discount for guests.
