Just got back from York (Monks Cross) Asda. Notice they had a very small dvd player for £20 which I thought was a bargain. Also next to it was a selection of dvd inlcuding Bridget Jones's Diary for £5.97. Not sure if this is just a local only, but it did look a very neat little machine not much bigger than those portable dvd players.
I didnt buy player as I have enough but was very tempted particualry as it was so small, it also played mp3's but I cant recall if it does jpegs or VCD,SVCD.

Saw these in Leeds. It did mp3, cdr/rw and jpeg, can't remember what else. They announced them over the tannoy as portable DVD players but they aren't - well, not in the sense that they have a screen! They're just quite small and they have flip-up lids where the discs go in, which could look like a screen at first glance. Needless to say I took mine back when I realised.0

Still a good deal and very handy for a small space and or ideal for a bedroom player.
I suppose they could be confused as a portable one although you wouldnt get a portable player with screen for that price unless it was a pricing error.

Well, that's my point really - they shouted the price over the tannoy in the store as if it was a bargain or end-of-line clearance. When I went to look at the boxes, one member of staff was telling someone else there was a screen under the lid!0
