Advice on a Wedding Venue in the West Midlands

Hiya, i'm new to this forum.
We got engaged on the 17th July and are hoping to get married on the 16th June 2012 (dp's birthday). I'm really stuck for a venue. I've been to see about 10 hotels so far and i love nailcote hall but Dp isn't keen on it & we cannot have a civil ceremony there if we want the marquee as they do 2 weddings at a time & the area for ceremonies is next to the other reception room (our local church will not marry us as dp has been married before) :-(
I really like marquee's and would like nice views to look at. I can't stand wooden panelling & feature fireplaces aren't really my thing which rule alot of venues nearby out. I'm really struggling so any advice would be welcome, were happy to travel a little way so anywhere in the west Midlands, warwickshire or worcestershire would be considered. Thanks :-)

hiya
whats your budget? What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -
Have you actually confirmed this with your local church? I know lots of churches will conduct second marriages these days.
If not, you only have to have quite a loose connection to a church for them to marry you. Where did his/your parents marry? Where were either of you baptised?
If they are local enough it would be worth enquiring with them.
Apart from that though I can't help... I live in Somerset!!!First date 10.2.2002
Engaged 18.8.2010
Wedding 9.4.2012
Baby #1 due 26.2.2014 :j0 -

Its got a gorgeous marquee that overlooks a lake. It is quite expensive though. As soon as I saw it i loved it and it was over budget but ive managed to cut back in other areas!! haha
You can get married in the library and/or have a blessing in the Chapel. What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -

I was a student in the area and once went to a function at the west midlands golf club/lake at barston restaurant - it has awesome views and seemed very romantic. I did consider getting married there but we now live a couple of hours away.
I'm new so can't post links but it can be found by googling lake at barston0 -
Thanks for the responses.
Weve got 50 adults & 20 children for the ceremony & sit down meal and around 120 for the evening.
Budget is 10-15k for everything.
There is the option of asking the church where dp's family got married but it is the other side of birmingham & i don't know the area at all as i'm not from here.
I'll have a look atthe links posted now :-)Addicted to comping.

Have you seen Lea Marston and Moor Hall? I've heard good reports of Moor Hall, and been to a good wedding previously in a marquee at Lea Marston.0

Hi - i got married at Dumbleton Hall Hotel (just outside Evesham, worcs) on Saturday. I can honestly say they were bloomin' fantastic - nothing was too much trouble, the wedding co-ordinators were great and so helpful. The food is amazing. The staff are excellent. They run the wedding military style (in a GOOD way lol) and as such, everything runs to plan perfectly.

They are also incredibly well priced and great value for money.
I truly do not work for them lol.... they were just so so so good to us on Saturday. They also had some little surprise, special extras which made the day even more perfect!!!
Oh and also, i didnt have a marquee BUT my hairdresser who randomly got married there 5 weeks ago too DID have a marquee and although it obviously adds a bigger cost on top of the price (as with anywhere) she said that it was lovely having the marquee and the venue in such beautiful surroundings.
Hope this helpsBaldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?0
