Yes, but not good news. Legal wrangling and crap means it's not going to open, final straw was planning permission i think

Damn it, Bingo round the corner would've been great. I phoned a friend last night and all she could tell me was that a Jewish guy owned the building beforehand and that it is him that's contesting it. Apparently he thought it was going to be a casino.

Back to the Bingo Bus then :(
  • Hey all,
So did the bingo hall on botanic ever open? Reason I'm asking is because my husband wants to go on his birthday (11th June, a Saturday night) next week and I've never been to bingo before! I'm trying to organise something for about 10 people to go, any ideas of where and how I can do this? Where is best to go, times/ how much/ can you bring or buy alcohol there? Thanks!

Milajayne, I suggest you go to Galaxy Bingo at Yorkgate. Ample parking, bring your own carry out and the staff are helpful if you are newbies. Early books start at 7pm - main session at 8pm. Prize money isn't bad on a Saturday, thought Fridays are better (last page £1,500 for full house)

Don't get too rowdy if you are having a few shandies though, these women take their bingo seriously!
NO MORE HANDWASH GLITCHES PLEASE :D:D

A friend was waiting on it opening, she goes to a different one.
Its to do with the alcohol licence it seems. Though they don't sell it people bring in carry outs and they therefore need a licence. Its taking longer than they expected and should be sometime in January, before their request is heard.

It has nothing to do with an alcohol license, as Oasis dont allow alcohol on their premises. They have another bingo in Bangor, hopefully the one in Botanic will be open soon.

No it won't open. Poster after me said planning permission and legal stuff.

A friend goes to various bingo halls, including this company she and everyone else bring their own drink in. They do it by making it look like they are drinking coke and the staff turn a blind eye.
