Bought one too, the booklet that came with it doesn't contain much info tho, what is the auto setting to be used for

Yes, me too! I got one this morning, certainly looks big enough but very basic instructions, I thought it would have more than 2 recipes with it.

    lots here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=4273&highlight=slow+cooker+recipes
  • have been thinking about one of these but have been told to get a smaller one (just DH, DS (14 mths & me - although we are all double protion eaters lol)
the smaller ones look good but I do like to cook double/triple ammounts - especially of soups for lunches etc - what do you think would be best ??
I currently use my HUGE pan on the gas hob to do large batch soups so could still do this if needed but thought that might defeat the object of saving gas etc ???

we are a family of 6 and i have just made a chicken casserole with 8 legs as my 17 year old and OH are big eaters
plenty enough room with veg and stock
I am going to be making a big batch of soup tommorow to freeze
This size slow cooker is ideal for a big family or making double

where did you buy a chicken with 8 legs?

I haven't plucked up the courage to use the new Aldi one yet as it looks so new and shiney whereas my old tower was brown and never looked used!
