Lots of spots after eyebrow threading

Is it normal? Went for my first eyebrow thread nearly a week ago and I have now lots of spots around it, they are very angry and white or red. Is it normal? Does it mean that this is not suitable for me? is there a way I can prevent them? I loved the shape they created for me and it wasn't painful but don't like the spots at all!

This is normal the first couple of times- did they use aloe vera afterwards?
Did you go to an independent shop or just go to Boots/Debenhams?
Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.0 -
I went to an independent. She is a beautician and has her beauty salon around the corner I live. I didn't use aloa vera

Spots. All red or white, quite angry ones. They are not blocked follicles. I put some of my acne cream on them and feel they are getting dry but what can I do to prevent them coming out after eyebrow threading?0

when eyebrows or upper lip is threaded then the pores become open and if not clean then bacteria will lead to spots. make sure that b4 threading the area is free from makeup and clean. maybe antiseptic wipes etc. and after threading to use some sore of antiseptic. you could run an ice cube b4 and after to help with pain and closing up pores. i just use a little cheap aftershave (boots own brand - the one with alcohol) and dab a little over the areads with a cotton bud.0

never had spots before, take a make-up wipe before and after you go next time0

did you use any makeup soon after it was done? that can make things worse.:happyhear0

Some people are allergic to the thread that is used to thread with.

I used to get spots when I used to get eye brow waxing (this was before threading came to the UK). I decided it was the oils used afterwards which were a mixture of aloe vera and oils to remove the wax residue. I just used a facial wipe to get rid of the stuff they put on and the problem seemed to not come back. I don't know if my skin got used to the stuff or the wipes worked but I rarely get spots as a result.
Have you tried tea tree oil wipes following the threading? Boots, Bodyshop and Superdrug sell some or you could try a bit of diluted tea tree oil on cotton wool. It may sting for a bit and turn pink/red but its safe and I think its what helped stop the spots I used to get.
I think your still suitable for threading though but just need to get used to it or the products used.0 -
I didn't have any make up on before or after- the spots are getting dry now. I will try the tea tree oil wipes next time, just hoping that I won't have the spots afterwards.0
